ASICS FrontRunner Ade Okojibe on Running, Mental Health and Community | Keep Me Young

There was a point in my life where movement wasn’t guaranteed.

There was a time in my life where movement wasn’t guaranteed.

Before the run clubs, before becoming an ASICS FrontRunner, and before launching Keep Me Young, I faced moments where even walking properly became a challenge. Looking back now, it’s crazy to think how much movement would later shape my life.

Running became more than fitness for me.

It became structure during difficult times. It became therapy, clarity, confidence, and connection. Through adversity, personal loss, and mental battles, movement slowly helped me rebuild both physically and mentally.

That journey is a huge part of why I created Keep Me Young.

The idea was simple: wellness should not feel complicated.

I wanted to create a brand and community that made longevity, movement, and mental wellbeing feel more accessible to everyday people. Whether that’s through running, coaching, wellness products, or community events, the mission has always stayed the same — helping people feel better physically and mentally through simple consistent habits.

Becoming featured by ASICS was a proud moment because their “Sound Mind, Sound Body” philosophy genuinely reflects how I try to live my life.

But the most rewarding part has been building the Keep Me Young Run Club in Leeds.

What started as a local community run has grown into a supportive space where people come together to move, connect, improve their mental health, and challenge themselves in a positive environment. Some people arrive nervous, some come alone, and some are going through difficult periods in life - but movement has a powerful way of bringing people together.

That’s also why I continue advocating for mental health awareness and suicide prevention alongside wellness and running. Sometimes a conversation, a community, or even a simple run can genuinely change someone’s direction in life.

Today, my mission remains simple:
help people move more, feel better, and make longevity part of everyday life.

And no matter where your starting point is, your story does not have to end there.
